Howard Nations Biography
Howard is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as both a personal injury trial lawyer and a civil trial lawyer. He is board certified on the national level as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocates, and is certified as a Diplomate of Trial Advocacy by the National College of Advocacy. Mr. Nations received his law degree from Vanderbilt University and a bachelor of arts degree from Florida State University. His career has been acknowledged with listings in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in Finance and Industry.

As a leader of the trial bar, Mr. Nations is an active member of the American Association for Justice, formerly known as ATLA. He served on the Executive Committee and as an officer from July 1990-1995, serving as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. He is the immediate Past President of The National Trial Lawyers and continues to serve on their Executive Committee and co-chairs their Committee on Educational Programs. Mr. Nations is Past Vice-President of the Association of Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America 2010, Past President of the Aletheia Institute 2010, Past President of the Belli Society 2007-2008, Past President of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association 2003, Past President of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association 1991-1992, and a Trustee of the American Jury Foundation.

Personal hands-on representation is the hallmark of the law firm. Mr. Nations specializes in pharmaceutical mass torts and continues to handle large catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Nations is currently representing people who have been injured by pharmaceuticals and medical devices, such as the diabetes drug Actos, the DePuy ASR and DePuy Pinnacle hip implants, Yaz and Yasmin birth control, transvaginal mesh devices, and Gadolinium contrast dye lawsuits. His individual catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases consist primarily of people injured or killed by trucking collisions, drunk driving, and distracted driving. Mr. Nations has successfully prosecuted all kinds of injuries, including roller coasters, water parks, elevators, forklifts, medical malpractice.

During his forty-plus years of trial practice he has tried cases in the areas of product liability, wrongful death, medical malpractice, real estate fraud, insurance bad faith, will contests, breach of contract, child custody, divorce, criminal defense and a variety of personal injury and workers' compensation cases, both from the plaintiffs' and defendants' side of the docket.

After forty years of legal lecturing, and as founder and former Chair of the American Association for Justice National College of Advocacy, formerly known as ATLA National College of Advocacy, Mr. Nations is one of the most sought after legal speakers in America, having spoken in each of the 50 states, England, Mexico, Scotland, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Aruba, Columbia, Panama, Tahiti and 6 Canadian provinces. Howard continues as a member of the adjunct faculty at South Texas College of Law. He has also published numerous law review articles, CLE papers and legal publications.

Mr. Nations is a member of the National Trial Lawyers, American Association for Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Southern Trial Lawyers Association, Belli Society, American Bar Association, APITLA, and the State Bar of Texas.

2012 Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame
Howard Nations was inducted into the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame Class of 2012, along with Robert Josefsberg, Ronald Motley, and Scott Baldwin. Congratulations to Howard on this recognition for a lifetime of success as a Trial Lawyer!
